World Acrobatic Championships 2024- Results

Last week, our elite acrobats traveled to Portugal alongside the Great Britain team to represent their nation at the World Age Group Championships.

Unfortunately, the competition didn’t start ideally for Spelthorne, as our super seven became a super six for the World Championships. The exceptionally talented men’s pair, Owen and Sidney, had to withdraw from the competition due to an unfortunate injury.

The week started with the qualification rounds, and our acrobats delivered some breathtaking routines.

Amelie and Evie had rare misstep during balance in the 12-18 women’s pair age group which meant this lovely pair did not advance to the finals. But they didn’t let it stop them show casing their talent during their dynamic routine, a fierce performance from them both.
Olivia, Isabel, and Dollie performed two fantastic routines, but due to the one-country rule, they also missed a spot in the finals.
Girls, you made the club, the country, and yourselves proud.

Four partnerships successfully qualified for the finals after executing strong routines.

Ralph, Josh, Archie, and Lucas: Qualified in 2nd place.
Gemma, Lexie, and Sophie: Qualified in 2nd place.
Harry and Emily: Qualified in 2nd place.
Abi, Ruby, and Emma: Qualified in 5th place.

The finals took place on Sunday, and we were glued to our screens throughout the day. Spelthorne achieved some wonderful results, making us immensely proud of the team all.

Gemma, Lexie, and Sophie captivated the audience with their dynamic combined routine, earning 2nd place in the 12-18 age group.
Abi, Ruby, and Emma delivered two stunning routines filled with artistry and character, finishing 5th in both the 13-19 final and the Junior world final.
Ralph, Josh, Archie, and Lucas showcased remarkable progress, leaving the audience in awe with their impressive elements and engaging choreography, securing 3rd place in the 13-19 final and clinching silver in the junior world final.
Harry and Emily were, as always, a delight to watch. With their strong and secure elements, they earned bronze in the 13-19 final and silver in the junior world final.

Congratulations to all the gymnasts and coaches.
